Mattress Sanitization & Allergen Removal

What are you sleeping with tonight?

Most beds provide warm, moist environments to host a few million dust mites.  Healthy Spaces introduces mattress & bedding sanitizing and allergen removal services.

*Do you or members of your family suffer from allergies or asthma?  If so, it is probable these problems are triggered or aggravated by allergens from dust mites in your home.  *Air filters and HEPA vacuums reduce symptoms but can’t address the root cause.  Vapor cleaning kills dust mites and their eggs.

*Widely used in Europe and Pacific Rim Countries, Vapor Cleaning technology has recently been introduced in North America.  Using low moisture content vapor under extreme pressure, we leave you with sanitized mattresses and bedding

Call 503-655-3565 to schedule your vapor cleaning service today!

Vapor cleaning is not steam cleaning.  Steam cleaning is performed with high moisture content, leaving you with a very damp, sometimes wet, carpet for hours.

Vapor cleaning uses superheated low moisture content water vapor under pressure to deeply sanitize bedding.  The surface is dry to the touch and can be slept in that same night.

Vapor cleaning bedding for a typical family of 4 will cost approximately $250.00

This will include sanitizing and cleaning a King Mattress, 2 twin mattresses, and 4 pillows.

Ask for a quote on your bedroom furniture and carpet to fully sanitize your sleeping area.

Since 2003 Healthy Spaces has provided products for Healthy Living.  We are excited to offer this new technology to our neighbors in the Portland area!

Learn more about Mite Busters:

- Recent studies have shown that exposure to house dust mite allergens is a significant risk factor for the development of allergic diseases, such as asthma and rhinitis (hay fever). According to Dr. Zeldin, of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), "Results from an earlier study suggest that over 45% of U.S. homes, or approximately 44 million dwellings, have bedding with dust mite allergen concentrations that exceed a level that has been associated with allergic sensitization. We estimated that 22 million homes have bedding with dust mite allergen concentrations at a level that can trigger asthma in susceptible people. So we were eager to test ways to reduce these troublesome substances."

- According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), dust mites are the #2 cause of allergy problems (topped only by Pollen). There are likely millions of them in your home.

The products we use:

- The primary vapor cleaning systems we use are the TR-6, the GAIA, the DESIDERIO and the DESIDERIO PLUS

The Features:

- Continuous fill, and an extractor(vacuum). Continuous fill means water can be added as needed while working without having to stop, release boiler pressure, refill the tank and wait 15-20 minutes for the units to get back up to operation heat. The extractor is a built in vacuum that removes residue or surface moisture at any time and can be used independently of the vapor cleaning system

- With the exception of the Desiderio, all models are continuous fill

- The TR6 doesn’t have an extractor

What are Dust Mites?  According to the American Academy of Family Physicians:

- Dust mites are tiny bugs that live in your home. They measure about 1/100th of an inch in length, which is smaller than the period at the end of this sentence. Dust mites feed off of pet and human dander (dust), and their waste is a major cause of allergies and asthma. In children who have asthma, dust mites can cause them to wheeze more and need more asthma medicine. So, cutting down the number of dust mites in the home is an important step if your child has allergies or asthma.

- Dust mites love warm, humid areas filled with dust. Bed pillows, mattresses, carpets and furniture are great places for them to live. Cleaning each one of these places can make a real difference in the number of dust mites in your home.
