About Diane's Journey
My passion for sharing these products with my customers comes as a result of nearly three decades of struggle with chronic pain. After injuring my back in a boating accident in 1980, I not only lost the ability to play tennis and ski, but even normal, everyday tasks like driving and cooking made me miserable. My search for relief was unrelenting and I made a career out of finding ways to relieve the constant pain in my back.
I would spend my lunch hours in the medical library at the Veterans Administration headquarters where I worked in Washington, D.C. and visited some of the top doctors in their fields at the George Washington University Medical Center. While working on my master's degree at that university, I studied the behavioral and cultural aspects of pain while learning techniques that were considered very "alternative" in the 1980s. I traveled to five continents and learned about ways that people created wellness lifestyles without solely relying on drugs and doctors.
The products and services that we offer at Healthy Spaces have their roots in this journey, which ultimately brought me to a place of living pain-free. I have great empathy for my customers who travel this road and it is a pleasure and a privilege to share what I have learned in an effort to help them.
As St. Teresa of Avila said, "Be friendly to your body so that your soul is happy to live there".

About Healthy Spaces
Healthy Spaces is owned by Mike and Diane Bays, both of whom have a long term interest in technologies to improve your health. Diane and Mike have worked with the Veterans Administration Hospitals, where they saw both the advantages and disadvantages of traditional medical care. Mike and Diane's break with the “sickcare industry” has given them the chance to teach people how to stay well and avoid the cycle of chronic illness and dependence on a medical system that is in crisis. As a team, Mike and Diane are committed to the following.
1. Education - Those of you who visit our store or stop by our booth at a health fair or home show tend to be very open-minded about your healthcare options and very interested to learn more about our technologies. We strive to be a resource for you and to keep up with the latest research on the benefits of our products.
2. Integrity - We will be honest and fair in our attempts to gain your business. There are other vendors out there with similar products and we believe that your decision will be based largely on your confidence in us to stand behind our product and to give you an excellent product at a fair price.
3. Customer Service - We know that you can order any of our products on the internet. We find that most of our customers prefer an eye-to-eye experience, especially when a health concern has brought you to the point of considering a purchase. As professionals in the fields of health care and education, we take the time to listen, to do the appropriate research and to make the best recommendation possible to you.
